routine

Standing in the platform,
Waiting for the train to arrive.
You stayed behind,
You pass some time.

Tick-tock, tick-tock said the clock...

15 minutes go by,
Another train comes,
Another train leaves,
15 minutes in between.

Tick-tock, tick tock said the clock...

Either be pushed aside,
Or be shoved inside.
You try your luck,
But grasp a hand,
Or be left behind.

Tick-tock, tick tock said the clock...

Like a rehearsed performance,
No different than yesterday.
It has become predictable,
You do the same everyday.

Tick-tock, tick tock said the clock...

You’re late,
You’re stressed,
Time is wasted,
Body is drained.

Tick-tock, tick tock said the clock...

How come but there are other ways?
Why not take something different,
Or something unusual?
Why bear the same complexity each day?

Tick-tock, tick tock said the clock...

Perhaps you’re scared,
Stuck with what you’re familiar with.
Afraid to dare because of the unknown,
You preferred to stay in your comfort zone.
